Program Track: Implant Surgery and Prosthetic Rehabilitation

Since 1996, we have successfully converted patients with a failing dentition to a fixed implant supported prosthesis utilizing an immediate loading technique. The technique is not only effective but has remained uncomplicated. A step by step guide of how this modality is predictably accomplished will be addressed. The lecture will follow the patient through treatment. Key elements including prosthetic work-up, CT evaluation, communication between all team members and their responsibilities, stent fabrication, surgery and immediate prosthesis fabrication will be discussed. The lecture will also cover the management of complications that may occur. Long term results will also be shown.

Educational Objectives:

  • Recognize the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a failing dentition that are candidates for immediate loading.
  • Recall what to look for in CBCT: sites, size, position, density, arch relationship.
  • Recall the keys to successful surgery.
  • Avoid and deal with complications.
